It's a non-verbal agreement amongst casual footballers that you're only allowed to wear loud football boots if you're any good at football. Following this logic, we're not sure what guidelines come with Puma's new '24 Karat Gold' Avanti trainers. You have to be a really skilled walker?
Modelled on the iconic Puma King football boot, the Avanti trainer trades in the moulded studs and hardened foot bed for a white and black rubberised sole. The leather fabric of the trainer has been finished in a head-turning metallic gold, with the Puma logo picked out in contrasting black.
Despite losing its pitch-worthy studs, the Avanti keeps the classic folding tongue that our younger selves used to think made the world of difference when you were lacing a shot at goal. That said, it would be a crime to go kicking a muddy ball in these.
Set to arrive on Puma's online store from 8 August, we recommend you pair these with a suitably muted outfit.
