The Dark KnightKnight of Cups.
To The WonderThe Tree Of Life The Thin Red Line.
Little is yet known about the furtively shot feature thus far, and despite a wealth of footage in this new trailer, hinting at Bale’s character as some sort of LA celebrity dealing with fame, excess and carnal temptation, it looks like we've a while to wait before Malick reveals anything else since he admitted that the film’s title has its roots in tarot cards.
Weighty questions pondered by Bale’s narrator are mixed with intimate close-ups as the footage starts off with a sinister vibe, eventually morphing into a more inspiring and wondrous global journey, the sort we've come to expect from the director who comes with his own baggage…
Malick’s notorious for cutting big name actors out of his movies, leaving big scenes on the cutting room floor, so it’s good to see that Natalie Portman, Brian Dennehy, Antonio Banderas, Ben Kingsley and Imogen Poots have survived the culling.
Unlike Bale's melancholic chap in the trailer, we're fairly positive about this one.
Knight of Cups is out in cinemas in 2015
