A mention of the cancellation of Joss Whedon's sci-fi western Firefly will usually illicit one of two reactions from people.
The first, from those who've not seen it: "Fire-what? Is it like Star Trek? Didn't he do Buffy?"
The second, from those who've seen it: *Uncontrollable sobbing* "Why did they kill it?! WHY?! It needs to come BACK!"
Hopefully both groups will be able to enjoy the work of artist Stephen Byrne - though we suspect the later grouping may start tearing up again.
The short clip, The Animated Adventures of Firefly Teaser, depicts life aboard Serenity after the events of the 2005 film Serenity (which attempted to tie off many of the unfinished TV series' stories). Byrne started work on it back in 2014, as you can see from a production video posted below the short.
