Since its inception in 2012 - the year the world was supposed to end but thankfully didn’t - Kit Neale has garnered a reputation for colourful designs in fashion, printmaking, interiors, and general cool creative stuff. Dune London makes really, really good shoes.
The collaboration between the two? It was always going to be a standout. Drawing on unique reference points and original patterns, the collection sees Kit Neale and Dune collab on ten footwear styles in a range of colourways and textiles - from matt and hi-shine leathers to canvas and nubuck suede - and a selection of accessories. And they’re all named after fish, reflecting the collection’s sea theme.
Taking inspo from seafood packaging purchased at oriental supermarkets in London, Kit says: “No matter whether you’re in a classic fish and chip shop or a supermarket in China Town, the graphics of seafood products are, strangely, often highly graphic and colourful illustrated designs.
“[In creating the collection] I thought, what if Kit Neale had a fishmongers or sushi restaurant chain… what would the workers wear?”
Kit Neale x Dune London launches 9 October in selected Dune London stores and on dunelondon.com
