Louis Vuitton launches maritime inspired collection‘Maritime-inspired‘ can mean different things in fashion, from Jean Paul Gaultier’s tight sailor outfits to knitwear with a repeated anchor pattern.
Thankfully, Louis Vuitton’s new seafaring-influenced collection is both more practical for the former and more stylish for the latter. In honour of the 30th anniversary of the Louis Vuitton Cup, the brand has revealed this innovative range. It includes leather boat shoes that have a breathable lining to allow air to circulate (£440), lightweight trousers with anti-wind pockets at the front and waterproof pockets at the back (£570), and water and scratch-resistant sunglasses (£250).
That’s not all. Using a new canvas developed from a high-frequency welding process, the design team has even forged an entirely waterproof edition of the brand’s classic Keepall bag (£1,600). Clearly, it’s a trailblazing collection. Though most importantly, it gives you a chance to achieve an authentic maritime look without having to know which side starboard is.
