Italian sportswear brand Diadora’s heritage push continues with a dramatic duet with British retailer END Clothing on the V7000 ‘Opera’.
Merging athleticism with Renaissance romanticism, the result is dramatic and detailed: blood red suede and red leather uppers evoke the fancy balconies around the centre stage, and a little smattering of gold make sure things end with a flourish. The best bit? The red rope laces, that look like – depending on your background, I guess – delicious strawberry sweets or velvet dividers at posh events. I’m not one to judge. I’m sure it doesn’t say a lot about you as a person, which one you pick.
In a very limited run – just 150 individually numbered pairs – and with each coming in a red carpet and soft velvet box and travel bag, the trainer is not subtle but it is a lot of fun.
