Costa admits that they don’t give you an extra shot in a large latte

More like Costa fortune…

When a scorned customer filmed himself pouring the contents of a large self-service Costa cup into a regular cup without a drop being spilled, going viral in a matter of hours last week, Costa’s social media folk were quick to respond to the growing consumer outrage.

Taking to its Facebook page, the company claimed that customers needn’t feel 'duped' because as well as having space for 4oz more liquid, larger cups also received an extra shot of coffee.

'Oh wow', we all thought, 'well that settles it, let's put our pitchforks and flaming torches down'. Well take a good mouthful of your latte and prepare to spit it over your keyboard in slapstick surprise…

Costa has now backtracked, admitting that some of their large drinks do not contain this extra shot at all.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, a spokesman said: "A large Costa Express latte is the only drink where both the large and regular has two shots.”

Meaning that for this entire time customers have been stumping out 30p for 4oz of extra milk. A thimble of calcium at best.

Come on Costa, let's sort this out and give us the cardboard jugs of hot caffeine your customers deserve.
