Classiest Pool Ever

Almost too good to swim in. Almost.

Classiest Pool Ever

If, like us, you spent your childhood in pools with the odd floating plaster and an on-hand slush puppy machine then you'll have developed a fairly low expectation for places to swim.

Unless of course you happen to come from France where, from the looks of this, they believe that swimming should be seen as a luxurious pursuit.

Les Bains Des Docks aquatic centre in Le Havre straddles indoor and outdoor spaces with pools, saunas, waterfalls and steam rooms. It's come from Jean Nouvel, a designer who has kept things largely neutral, save for what might be the most appealing kids play area ever, which is decorated in bright colours.

What's surprising about all of this is that it's open to the public, without the need for some fancy membership. Entry costs as little as 5 Euros. If you happen to be in the area (referred to as the Brasilia of France, whatever that means) then check it out. If not, prepare to seethe the next time you visit your local leisure centre.

If you're in a jealous mood then here's a house with a self-cleaning pool.
