Luc Besson is a man who knows a thing or two about good movies, having helmed Leon, Fifth Element, Taken and Lucy – and next up for the legendary French director is sci-fi thriller Valerian and the City of a Thousands Planets.
The movie – an adaptation of the French comic Valerian and Laureline, hits screens on 21 July and the final trailer has just been released, showing a load of aliens, a futuristic city and a whole load of running around and explosions. Honestly, what’s not to like?
It stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne as Valerian and Laureline respectively, a pair of space-and-time-traveling agents, while Clive Owen plays Arün Filitt, their commander.
Intriguingly, two music stars will also appear in the finished movie – Rihanna and Herbie Hancock; Rihanna is known to be playing a ‘shapeshifting entertainer’, so let’s see how that pans out. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
