A 7-year-old boy had to be rescued by firefighters after falling into the gap between two five storey buildings after trying to jump from one roof to the other.
The boy attempted the jump between two buildings in Zhenning County, southwest China's Guizhou Province. However, a misstep made him fall into the 20cm gap between the two buildings.
He plummeted down the gap but came to a stop wedged between the two walls 2m above the ground.
A firefighter said: "When we arrived, the boy was 12 meters away from the roof, while around 2 meters away from the ground”."
To begin with they tried lowering a rope down to the boy and attempted to pull him back up to the roof. When this failed firefighters then had to break a hole in one of the walls so that the boy could be pulled to safety.
Finally, three hours after he first became trapped the boy was freed. He was taken to hospital but found to be fine apart from a few bruises and scratches.
