Alexander Wang's Adidas Originals capsule collection is luxuriously good

German sportswear behemoths adidas have this week announced a capsule collection with revered American fashion designer Alexander Wang, and it looks set to fly off the shelves almost instantly.

Neither party is a stranger to a good old collaboration, with adidas' list of previous sponsored_longforms reading like a who’s who of anybody who’s anybody, and Wang’s previous collaborators including some of the biggest names in the game. The addition of Wang to adidas is in keeping with the brand’s foray into high fashion, which has previously seen them join forces with Raf Simons, Rick Owens and Yohji Yamamoto.

Rumors of the capsule collection first began circulating earlier this summer, but the pair made it official on Saturday evening as a surprise addition to the designer’s show at New York Fashion Week. The doubtlessly pricey collection will be made up of unisex pieces including tracksuit bottoms, footwear, T-shirts and hoodies but we’ll have to wait until spring for the collaboration to hit stores worldwide.
