Much like the fictional alien of the same name, the Predator boot connotes two factors: unforgiving accuracy and futuristic technology. But unlike the creature that once tracked Arnie through a jungle, however, adidas’s most treasured football boot has always tended to be more aesthetically pleasing. And, happily, we’re pleased to announce the latest incarnation is better than ever.
Composed of five super-light rubber and memory foam 3-D zones, each designed to support perfect ball control, it’s no surprise that marksmen such as Robin Van Persie, Edin Dzeko and playmakers like Xavi and Samir Nasri have been helping adidas to test them out.
It also marks the first time that adidas’s MiCoach Speed Cell technology has been incorporated into the boot, a revolutionary mod-con that ShortList got to test out on a visit to Adidas HQ in Germany, last year.
Simply put, it’s the boot you’ve always needed. But don’t take our word for it, watch the video below (to see how star players put the boots through their paces), before diving into an infographic to share our excitement.
