adidas to give Olympic champions 3D-printed trainers

Sure, making your country proud is cool, but bagging yourself a pair of adidas 3D-printed trainers is even cooler. That's right, the sportswear brand is gifting its Rio 2016 Olympic champions pairs of tailor made 3D-printed trainers if they win the top prizes.

The printed running shoes will be a groundbreaking first for adidas, with even the heel being 3D-printed, which is obviously some sort of black magic. And if that wasn't revolutionary enough, the upper of the shoe comes in a new highly-breathable Primeknit, as well as three lace options being available, dependent on the recipient's achievement - gold, silver and bronze.

No release date has been given yet, but if you want them before anyone else you'll probably have to rob an Olympic athlete for a pair. Good luck.
