Three lions are going to have to make room for three stripes this summer as the world’s other biggest sporting event sees streetwear’s next hottest collaboration drop. And it’s hitting us next week.
That’s right, Wimbledon 2019 has prompted Palace and Adidas to team up once again and on 3 July they’re bringing us capsule collection of apparel and accessories in the form of adidas Tennis by Palace. Following up their April football collection, this time it’s tennis’ turn to serve (wheeyy) as the inspiration and let us tell you, it’s bright, it’s white and it’s gloriously court (or street-ready, if you’re cool).
Along with the clothing the skate and sport giants have take this collaboration a step further than previous efforts by working together not only on the clothes but on the campaign faces too: Palace boys Blondie McCoy, Lucien Clarke and Rory Milanes have all been shot alongside tennis tops Sacha Zverev and Garbine Muguruza by Alasdair McLellan. The line also sees another first in the form of Palace womenswear. ‘His n hers’ we hear you utter? Yes, yes.
But “what’s actually in the collection?” you might ask. Well scroll down and you can see every piece, safe in the knowledge that all the essentials you want are covered. Matchy-matchy tracksuit? Check. Bucket hat? Check. Zippy polo shirt? Check. The biggest logo umbrella you could ever wish for? Check. But actually not check because it’s tennis and everything’s white, obviously.
