A McDonald’s in the US is set to offer all you can eat fries

Sales of fast-food in the US and Europe are in rapid decline as swathes of health-conscious people are starting to swap reconstituted cow parts for post-gym protein shakes.

It’s a cultural move that could put an end to childhood obesity, type 2 diabetes and poor heart health. But not if one restaurant chain can help it.

In a textbook case of “go hard or go home” McDonald’s has lobbed all of its eggs into one gigantic basket in St Joseph, Missouri, announcing this month that the city will become home to “the McDonald’s of the future”.

Said future will boast tabletop video games, fully customisable burgers and yes, all-you-can-eat fries. Hey, why stop at supersize when you can keep eating until you’re physically sick and your grease-filled arteries literally explode?

There are currently no plans for a mega McDonald’s to open in the UK, so you’ll have to book yourself a ticket to St Joseph for when the 6,500-square-foot restaurant opens there on 8 July. Though you may want to book yourself two seats for the flight back.
