It's been something of a debut season to forget for Manchester United’s big money signing Memphis Depay, often hampered by fitness and lacking more confidence than Carlos Tevez at a speed dating night.
Little by little, however, there have been glimpses that this £25m Dutch winger may one day be worthy of that ionic number 7 shirt, as elucidated in United’s 5-1 Europa League victory over Danish side Midtjylland (not a typo) last night, where he ran the defence ragged and even managed to get himself a goal to boot.
Without doubt his finest moment of the night came with one outrageous piece of skill: nutmegging an opponent in a way even his silkiest teammate Juan Mata would probably have struggled to replicate.
