15 #IndieAmnesty Tweets that were way too real

For a certain generation, cravats, trilbies, obscene amounts of hair gel, wearing a gnarled V Festival wristband for a year, The Kooks, hanging around the stage door of a post-Babyshambles gig to see Pete Docherty emerge having wet himself, must seem like a long, long time ago.

Well, worryingly, it’s actually been a little over a decade.

In the wake of Johnny Borrell’s marvellously ironic take down of Indie Landfill – and do check out this brilliant interview in which we sat him down and made him explain himself - yesterday the hashtag #indieamnesty was born, causing thousands of rehabilitated indie kids to confess their sins over the internet.

Here are 20 of the finest, sure to invoke nostalgia of the very worst kind.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
