If your Easter plans are currently looking like a mix of supermarket runs and half-hearted pub bookings, this might be up your street. St Kat’s Sessions is returning for the Bank Holiday weekend, bringing its jazz setup back to the water.
Set on a floating pontoon at St Katharine Docks, the whole thing leans into that low-lit, slightly romantic London feeling. You’re surrounded by the marina, the lights bouncing off the water, a glass in hand, it’s less of a big night out and more of the right night out.
After five consecutive sell-outs, the Easter edition is being led by artist-in-residence Olivia Swann, who’s curating and headlining the sessions. She’ll be joined by pianist Jamie Safir, whose CV includes the likes of Kylie Minogue and Jessie Ware, alongside bassist Flo Moore. There’s also a guest slot from Marvin Muoneke, who’s been picking up serious attention on the UK jazz scene.

The event is backed by Nyetimber, which means you’ll be greeted with a complimentary glass of its Classic Cuvée on arrival, always a strong start, with more available at the bar throughout. Food-wise, it’s handled by The Melusine, meaning seafood-led small plates rather than the usual festival fodder.
There are two chances to catch it over the weekend, starting from £22: an evening session on Saturday (18:30–20:30) and a slightly more laid-back afternoon slot on Sunday (16:00–18:00), which has already sold out. Blankets are provided, which feels like a small detail until you’re sitting by the water in April and suddenly very grateful for it.
It’s intimate, it’s a bit different, and it’s already proven it can sell out quickly. If you’re after something that feels like a proper occasion without trying too hard, this is probably one of the better ways to spend a couple of hours over the Bank Holiday.

All of which will undoubtedly come up at some point over a pint.
