If your weekend's harrowingly bare and your social life's a pathetic disaster, don't dispair, we asked Jamaica’s dancehall daddy Sean Paul to share his tips on the art of not going out:

I use Netflix and other streaming apps, but I kinda like YouTube still. You can type in anything you would like to know about – even if it’s cooking a chicken. I turn my YouTube on to a jazz station and listen to it; it really relaxes me.

It’s important to be comfy, but I don’t need a lot of pillows. Studios have nice couches that you can relax on – I kinda want my sofa to be like that. I do like those big pillow things you sit on – like a big ball. Beanbags. I intend to get one. Food on the sofa is cool as long as it’s not messy. I like popcorn; if you use weed coconut oil, that’s twice as dope.

Cognac’s a good drink to relax with. But also there are times when I wanna unwind without alcohol, so chamomile tea really relaxes you. Another special tea I use is called weed tea. I boil marijuana and drink it, and that’s pretty dope.

I usually go barefoot in Jamaica; we don’t have much carpet in my house. I just wear shorts around the house, and T-shirts. I don’t really put on gowns or anything like that. In winter it might get a little cool, so you would use one of those Snuggie blankets.

Sean Paul’s new single Show Me feat Wizkid is out on 18 November
