A-ha, Jurassic Park, Back of the Net and all the rest of them: it looks like Partridge will be returning to both the big and small screens in the very near future.
Talking to The Guardian, Henry Normal, co-founder of Steve Coogan's production company Baby Cow, said that writing had begun for a sequel to the successful Partridge film outing Alpha Papa, a new series of Mid Morning Matters and also another special - supposedly a Coast-style documentary about the geography of Norfolk.
Normal commented, "we are planning a sequel [to Alpha Papa], yes, that will be great...we are also looking at doing more Mid Morning Matters and another Sky special, a little bit like Coast with Alan Partridge, except I don't think he goes out of Norfolk. I think it's things of interest in Norfolk, that's the general theme. We start writing now. I think we make it at the end of summer."
Alpha Papa emerged to critical acclaim last August, while the last sighting of Alan on TV were two specials, Alan Partridge: Welcome to the Places of My Life and Alan Partridge on Open Books with Martin Bryce, both shown on Sky Atlantic.
