One of the all-time great film clichés is more versatile than you think
We’ve established recently that we absolutely love a good old movie cliché here at ShortList Towers, selflessly compiling 19 of our absolute no-take-backs faves in this list right here.
And, yes, while, dogs covering their eyes is still basically our number 1 fave, it appears that we omitted a total classic, in the form of the line ‘you guys are gonna wanna take a look at this’.
It’s a line you’ve heard countless times before, usually signalling a major moment in the film, as some hitherto unseen factor comes to light, revealing all and creating a clear direction for the story to go.
But we’d never quite appreciated just how versatile the line was - or its multiple methods of delivery - until comedian Ryan Creamer produced this incredible piece of content: 38 seconds and six different methods of announcing crucial information.
Take a look and marvel below:
all I ask from this is that I get cast in this role in every movie going forward— Ryan Creamer (@ryguyguyry) May 13, 2018
This is only fair: Hollywood, can you make this happen please?
One commenter made a very good observation:
Bonus points: starting with "uh guys...?" All awkward, knowing it's a big deal but too bashful to make a scene— Marona Pup (@MaronaPup) May 13, 2018
While one was just stumped as to how they were going to share this video.
Brilliant. I’m going to email this to all my friends. Wish I could think of a good subject line for it.— Neil Richards (@neilrich75) May 13, 2018
Honestly, we haven’t got a clue. Any ideas anyone?
