Brilliant Evolve trailer

We wouldn't be any good in a hunt. We're not the quickest, our eyesight isn't what it used to be and we don't find mud all that agreeable.

Mercifully, Evolve doesn't require you to leave your living room to participate in an adrenaline-pumping game of predator versus pray. From the makers of Left 4 Dead comes a sci-fi hunting experience set to dominate your multiplayer needs for the remainder of the decade.

Players have two options. If you're a team player, you can choose to be part of a four-man hunting party, armed to the teeth with weaponry to make Boba Fett green(er) with envy. You must work together to track and kill an alien menace before it evolves into something too strong to take down.

If that's not your bag, you can choose to be the prey - hiding from the team of humans and gradually levelling up to the point where they'll be little more than ants under your taloned feet.

Check out the atmospheric trailer below for a taste of things to come.

Evolve will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in autumn
