What's your preference - retro revival or bold new kicks?

A trusted slice of Nineties sensibility, or a fresh take on woven footwear?

Those are the battle lines of this autumn's major trainer show down, which sees Nike resurrect the Air Max 220 and Adidas launch its Tubular X Premium Primeknit.

Word comes from the NikeBlog that the 1998 cult classic is set return, complete with Tuned Air cushioning and it's iconic "webbed" pattern of yesteryear.

Adidas is pushing on with its Tubular series, with the Tubular X Premium Primeknit presenting an elevated silhouette of woven knit, leather and nubuck overlays astride the familiar tubular cushioning (they're currently available here).

So which takes your fancy? Check out the gallery below and let us know your thoughts.
