This genius cartoon about Trump & Clinton will make you think twice

trumpclintonhero.jpg

Another day, another Donald Trump masterclass in offending people.

Following his dismissal of John McCain - a man who served five and a half years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, turning down early release as there were others who had been there longer than him - with the words, “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured? I like people who weren’t captured” - he's now been described as a 'barbarian' and as having a 'black soul' by Khizr Khan, whose son, a Muslim American soldier who was killed in Iraq in 2004.

The words came after Trump responded to criticism of him in a speech by Khan by insulting him and his wife, and suggesting that he had made comparable sacrifices to them and their son.

Nonetheless, the Trump show carries on regardless and, with much anti-Clinton feeling around, the Presidential election could go right to the wire - even Michael Moore thinks Trump will win. But cartoonist Joe Heller has created a brilliant piece of work which neatly summarises the differences between the two campaigns: predominantly fear on Trump's side, and a more hopeful vision of the future from Clinton.

Take a look at the image below - and read it twice, from top to bottom, and then from bottom to top.

Trump Clinton Cartoon

It's smart, succinct and cuts through more quickly than a thousand speeches. Perhaps the Clinton camp should just make giant posters of this and put them up across the US?
