Thrilling First Trailer For Ex Machina

Deux.jpg
On the off chance you seriously believe that a race of handsome and sexy machines with artificial intelligence is going to enslave mankind at some point in the near future, best not watching the first trailer for Ex Machina.

Starring the ever impressive Oscar Isaac as an inscrutable CEO of a major tech firm and Domhnall Gleeson as the wet-behind-the-ears coder who wins a competition to spend a week at the magnate’s secluded mountain mansion, it’s not long before the big boss introduces his protégée to real life artificial intelligence, beautifully packaged in Alicia Vikander.

Naturally, or else it wouldn’t be such a good sci-fi, things don’t run smoothly, and the youngster starts to develop feelings for the android who may be pitting the humans against one another to avoid being put in the trash for a new model.

The thinking man’s thriller also marks the directorial debut of Alex Garland, who you’ll know from his novel The Beach, or more likely his producing work with Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Sunshine), and he seems to have tinkered with tech hardware of his own here: the effects promise to be stunning.

Check out the trailer below to see for yourself.

Ex Machina is out in cinemas from 23 January
