New trailer for Jupiter Ascending

Seemingly unsatisfied with having changed the face of sci-fi films once, the Wachowskis are looking to do it again with shiny new space romp Jupiter Ascending.

Written, produced and directed by The Matrix creators, Jupiter Ascending stars Mila Kunis as the titular Jupiter Jones - a human janitor who unknowingly possess the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe, and whose very existence threatens the monarch's interstellar reign. Jupiter only learns of her fate when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically-engineered (he's got wolf DNA - we promise we're not making this up) ex-military hunter, wades in to save her life.

Thoroughly bonkers as that sounds, this first trailer carries all the gorgeous visuals and special effects we've come to know the Wachowskis for. Here's hoping it'll be more The Matrix than Revolutions.

Jupiter Ascending arrives on 25 July 2014
