This failed rocket landing is the most epic thing you’ll watch all week

So you think you're pretty good at chucking screwed up paper into the bin on the far side of the office? Sure you are.

But how about making the same shot while a rocket propels the bin toward the kitchen? And you're riding a remote control chair. Blindfolded.

This conveys just a fraction of the difficulty Elon Musk's commercial space group SpaceX have taken on in trying to land one of their reusable Falcon 9 rockets on an automated floating barge.

While SpaceX has successfully landed its Falcon 9 rockets - designed to be reused after every launch, thus vastly reducing the cost of space missions - on land, this was the third occasion on which the group failed to stick a landing at sea.

Musk took to Twitter to report that one of the four landing leg supports failed to lock into position, causing the rocket to tumble like a poorly built Jega tower - with a much larger bang.

Check out the incredible footage of the fail below, and then try sticking the landing yourself with this hard-as-nails computer simulator.
