"Guys, we need to get people to become more engaged with Twitter," is probably what Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said to his board at some point in the past few months.
"How about taking away the 140 character limit?" was probably one suggested option.
"Or giving away free puppies with every retweet?" came another.
Then some bright spark had the idea of raising the size restriction on gifs (pronounced gifs) from 5MB to 15MB. Which is huge.
So huge, in fact, that some users have taken to posting entire films and TV episodes in sped-up recaps.
No, it's not about to threaten your Netflix subscription - but it does point toward an interesting future of Twitter recaps and visual summaries. Get giffing.
