So, in news that probably won't shock anybody who has spent time on the darker side of the internet, it turns out quite a few men want to get it on with a robot.
A new poll has revealed that 14 per cent of us chaps would quite like to experience bot-based bonking. To put that into perspective, it probably means at least one of your colleagues right now (if not you...) would definitely consider cyber-freaky time. Women, on the other hand, aren’t so keen, with just 4 per cent saying they’d like a slice of android amore.
The poll by Sky News asked participants, ‘Could you have a fulfilling sexual relationship with a robot?’ although no specifics – booster rockets? – were included in the question.
Sadly, those clinging to the idea of shenanigans with a silicone cyborg will have to wait a while before it becomes a fully mainstream pastime. Earlier this year Dr Helen Driscoll from the University of Sunderland told The Mirror that we wouldn’t see a rise in ‘sex tech’ until 2070. That’s 50 more years of plain old boring human sex. How will we ever cope?
Skin is so passé.
