Whiskey wedge ice tumbler

Ask a whisky drinker what they know of sacrifice and they'll sigh, raise a glass and clink their cubes. A cold whisky means a diluted whiskey, as ice cubes introduce flavour-killing water to their drink of choice. Which is why the Whiskey Wedge is set to bring joy to spirit drinkers the world over.

The creation of Corkcicle (makers of the beer-chilling Chillsner), this tumbler glass comes with an admittedly unspectacular sloped silicon mould. Pour water into the glass, insert the mould and place it in the freezer. The resulting wedge-shaped ice formation that clings to the side of the glass helps reduce the surface area of the ice, while filling half the glass with its cooling presence. As a result, the ice melts at a slower rate than your average cube - like a glacier.

Currently available on the Corkcicle site for around £10, you can expect the Whiskey Wedge to be filling our Christmas stocking. And don't you dare think about putting any single malt Scotch in it - this is strictly for bourbons, you pedant.
