Emojis? They're so 2015.
The future of communication is Gifs - which we're pronouncing GIF.
Services like Twitter, Tinder and Facebook have supported Gifs for some months now, allowing users to search for short, hilarious clips that perfectly encapsulate their emotions.
It would now appear that WhatsApp is set to join the Gif party.
The addition of Gif features was spotted in WhatsApp's latest beta code by the Twitter account @WeBetaInfo - which noticed an addition in the latest version of code set to be released for Apple's iOS system. There's no exact word on when it will roll out.
If you need us, we'll be stockpiling as many hilarious Gif clips as possible for the forthcoming Gif-offs.
