Think of Tina Fey, and you'll probably imagine her bringing the LOLs in Saturday Night Live, schooling some mean girls in, er, Mean Girls, or losing her mind over lost macaroni cheese and failing at relationships in the incredible 30 Rock. It's pretty interesting, then, to see her dropped into a warzone for up-coming star-studded flick, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
The film, directed by the duo that brought us Bad Santa and I Love You Phillip Morris, sees Fey don camo and dodge bullets to act out the true story of journalist Kim Barker, and travel to Kabul on assignment in search of an important news story. There, she encounters the lovely Margot Robbie, the deadpan Martin Freeman, and, most excitingly, a proper badass high-ranking army officer in the formidable shape of Billy Bob Thornton.
We're anticipating some seriously dark humour when it hits cinemas next year. Get a taste of what's to come by watching its first trailer, here.
