Hungry for some serious drama? Want a side of Oscar-bait acting to go alongside it? Feast your eyes on the new trailer for Burnt.
Set in the swanky Michelin-starred eating houses of London, Cooper plays a volatile but nonetheless mega-talented chef whose passion for the job and dark forces (including rivals who will have him killed) swirling around him threaten to derail his plans to start the greatest restaurant in the world. In short: the man's got a lot on his plate.
Cooper’s hot-headed gastro whizz, referred to as the “Rolling Stones” of chefs by one guy in the trailer, certainly seems to be another of the more interesting roles picked by the Oscar winner, and we wouldn’t be too surprised to see this hard-hitting role put him in some sort of contention for another gong.
What’s more, taking us into the kitchen via his eyes, we’re also treated to what could be the most lavishly-shot series of food porn cinema has witnessed in a long time. And by the looks of his cutting, slicing and tendering, Cooper really has gone to town in researching for the film.
And yes, stumbling out of the Chiltern Firehouse also counts.
Burnt will be in cinemas from 16 October
