Hear that? It's the sound of a thousand cabbies crying out in rage...
Uber is launching a new 'Schedule' feature, allowing users to book an Uber driver hours, days or even weeks in advance.
The feature will roll out to London 'Uber for Business' users from 4pm on 25 August, allowing a cab to be booked from within 15 minutes to a maximum level of 30 days. The process of booking the Uber for that time slot will then be controlled internally.
The Scheduled Rides feature will then roll out to Uber's two million London users (sorry, wider UK) over the next fortnight. It looks a little something like this...
"Many of our riders, especially business customers, have asked us to introduce this feature and we’re really excited to bring it to Londoners from today," said Uber's London general manager Tom Elvidge. "Whether it’s having a car ready at the end of a meeting or to take you to the airport, scheduling your Uber in advance means there’s one less thing to worry about."
What with this and the arrival of the Night Tube, London is set to get a whole lot easier to navigate. Your move, cabbies.
