Bloody foreigners, coming over here, winning our Oscars.
While not quite the consensus across the pond just yet (they’d say ‘freaking’ for one thing), it must still be a smidgeon bittersweet for American film fans watching domestic hero after domestic hero portrayed by British actors.
Think Henry Cavill’s Superman, Christian Bale’s Batman, Andrew Garfield/Tom Holland’s Spiderman, and now Tom Hiddleston’s Hank Williams, who's getting his own origins story in I Saw The Light.
In the first trailer for the awards-baiting biopic, Hiddleston looks in supreme form as the country music legend whose boozing was as legendary as his song writing, both vocally and physically. We know he's good at impressions but this is a great deal more than that.
On something of a roll, he'll also soon to be seen in Ben Wheatley's dystopian thriller High-Rise, then sometime in 2017 expect him to pop up in Kong: Skull Island.
For now, cast your glance over this trailer.
