When it comes to gaming, we're often a bit guilty of living in the past.
So when we're not comparing Tetris techniques, we're trying to jam our old SNES cartridges into our PS3 with predictably little success. Which is why this news is rather important for all involved.
Last weekend, gaming company Hyperkin announced that they'd be bringing a new console to the market that can play all your old games. The RetroN 5 is a five-slot machine that will handle your NES, SNES, Genesis, Famicom, Game Boy Advance, Super Famicom, Mega Drive, Game Boy Color and Game Boy cartridges.
There will be six different controller ports, allowing you to use original SNES, Genesis or NES controller but there'll also be a wireless Bluetooth controller which has customisable buttons.
In other words, we're struggling for air out of sheer excitement. It's scheduled for release in July and will retail at around $100. No word on when it will be available for the UK market.
