In order to liven up the inarguably dull task of throwing rubbish into a bin, we'll usually pretend that the entire process is actually part of an important sporting event, where the object of the game is a perfect shot.

Depressingly, given our misguided self-belief, our crowning moments are few and far between and instead, we usually find ourselves victims of our own failure.

With help from Xbox Kinect, he's crafted the 'Smart Trashbox' which you can marvel at below:

Content Director

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
