We're sure that a lot of people get a great deal of pleasure from the often quite lengthy process of cooking. In fact, from the orgasmic sounds that seem to erupt from Nigella Lawson whenever she cracks an egg, we're damn positive of this.

But while it's surely a satisfying feat to create a meal that doesn't involve piercing any sort of film, we're more than happy to take the easy way.

Which is why we think we may have found our most favourite thing ever and, if like us, you tend to find English pancakes a little weak and flimsy but find their American counterpart a far more sturdy and delicious alternative, we're sure you'll agree.

The automatic pancake machine, also known as the ChefStack, can create up to 180 an hour and involves minimal man-labour. It's only really meant for restaurants, hence the steep price tag of $3,500, but we'd be willing to open an eatery up just to justify a purchase.
