Meanwhile, over in the world of Kickstarter, a new project is looking edge us toward our dreams by reinventing the skateboard.
Onewheel is a self-balancing electric skateboard from the future. An electric motor sits within the housing of the chunky wheel, while a fancy array of balance sensors help you to control your speed: lean forward to speed up to a top speed of 12 mph, back to slow down. The super-slim battery gives a range of 4-6 miles, so you won't be replacing your bike any time soon.
You can order your own Onewheel for £851 ($1,399) from the project's Kickstarter page. We hear Batman's already got his in customised black.
