The 11-foot iPod dock

Constant technological innovation has been providing us with solutions to problems we didn't even know that we had. Aimed at making our lives easier, we're heading towards a stationary, lazy future.

Well, not if Jean Michel Jarre has anything to do with it.

He's designed the AeroDream One, an dock that's seemingly been created just to make life that little bit harder. The piece of equipment is 11ft tall, making it impossible to reach without the handily attached ladder.

It does boast five separate amplifiers though, making it ideal for parties. Once the ladder is taken off, it also means that no music snob can start sneakily fading your Hall & Oates and replacing it with their iPod full of songs so cool they haven't even been finished yet.

Not only will your house require some high ceilings but you'll also have to be prepared to cough up $560,000 (£349,812). If you still need convincing, then take a look at this:
