How do you make an average game great? Plug it full of references to legendary games.
That's the approach that SEGA are taking with the solid-yet-simple Sonic Lost World, having already offered players of the Wii U platformer a chance to zip around Yoshi's Island in a peach of a DLC.
In a new free downloadable offering, Sonic befriends another of Nintendo's biggest heroes for The Legend of Zelda Zone. In this Hyrule-themed world, Sonic gets a chance to slow down the pace of his Lost World exploits and embark on some dungeon exploring. There's even a cameo from Link.
A cheap crossover or a masterful blend of genres? Watch the trailer and give us your thoughts.
