When we caught word that Tomb Raider was being rebooted, we reacted much like any other fanboy: "A Tomb Raider reboot?!", we all scoffed, theatrically spraying our tea over the office. "Ha!"
Our fears were misplaced. One of the best action games of 2013, Lara's adventure managed to blend a brilliant story with some excellent gameplay - without tarnishing our love of the original games.
Having learnt our lesson, we were duly excited by Square Enix's announcement of a Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One: a thorough polishing, tweaking and perfecting of an already great title. Vanquish your doubts by watching the splendid announcement trailer.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
