Atomic Floyd sounds like a god-like 80s super group involving Debbie Harry and Dave Gilmour. It's not. You've probably worked that out.
They're actually the makers of some of the best, affordable in-ear headphones on the market, and they've just become even more affordable. Floyd have emulated their £199 SuperDarts quality – constructed by hand from marine grade steel – for half the price. Available at Apple stores and online, the PowerJax boast superb quality for just £99.95. Check them out...
Look nice, no? Ridiculously the manufacturing process involves 1300°C heat being applied to injection-moulded steel for 10 hours to create an enlarged acoustic chamber. Apparently this delivers more air movement. More power. Our ears aren't honed to the point where we can tell all this (it's on the press release to be honest) but we are in a position to say they sound incredible. And at £99.95 it's a steal*.
(*It's not literally a steal. That's an expression. You still have to pay £99.95. OK, thanks, bye.)
