It's already on our list as the most exciting television event of 2014, and nothing we see from True Detective suggests that our list needs any reworking. This new trailer gets a little bit more into the story of the HBO show that unites Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as detectives hunting for a serial killer for 17 years, requiring many changes of wig and a variety of flared trousers.
Will this show manage to live up to the majesty of McConaughey and Harrelson's last collaboration, EdTV? Yes, very probably.
