The drip of a cooling vent. The creak of a bulkhead. The pounding of your own heart. The latest trailer for Alien: Isolation is thoroughly soaked in déjà vu of the highest order.
This latest CGI feast sees Amanda Ripley facing the same fate her mother did 15 years before her: trapped aboard the Nostromo, with something lurking in the pipework, she's forced to survive by patchworking old equipment together in the hope of living long enough to get some answers.
Should you enjoy the thrill of being scared silly, we suggest your turn off the lights, crank up the volume and fetch a pillow. It's about to feel like 1979 all over again.
Alien: Isolation arrives on 7 October

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
