The Guinness advert. Consistently kicking ass on TVs since the introduction of Ridley Scott's "Pure Genius" campaign with Rutger Hauer, back in the 80s.
Joyous news indeed that a new ad is inbound to our tellys, and if our exclusive pics are anything to go by, it's going to be epic.
Made under the direction of Academy Award winner Tom Hooper [The King's Speech] it's got a timely rugby theme, reflecting line-outs, scrums and tackles on the rugby pitch as two armies are seen recreating a battle. Wonder if it uses fake blood, just like rugger.
The ad entitled ‘The Flag’, is timed to coincide with the beginning of the Rugby World Cup, with the the premier on ITV during the opening game highlights hosts New Zealand against Tonga, on Friday. You can also catch it during England’s match with Argentina on Saturday or on their GuinnessGB Facebook page after midday Thursday. Yay rugby! Yay Guinness!
