For those of a certain age, it’s impossible not to harbour fond memories of Tom from Myspace, that other website gone the way of Ask Jeeves and Lycos.
Trading internet friendship with a man whose profile picture said 'warped serial killer' just so you could post your favourite photographs onto a profile page with which to impress your mates over on MSN Messenger, everyone seemed happy to call Tom a friend back in the day.
But for those of you believing he's now living in his mother’s basement, stubbornly bashing his keyboard in despair at Mark Zuckerberg now being the most popular kid in the internet classroom, you couldn't be more wrong. For he’s been let loose in the real world, and, his mum will be glad to know, is finally out there making some real friends.
In fact, it turns out he's actually having a better time than 99 per cent of us, adventuring across the globe and ticking more items off the bucket list than we knew possible. Posting on his Instagram account, Myspacetom, his global hijinx also give us our best look at what his one-time hero looks like today...
Yes, somehow he appears to have reversed the aging process, looking younger than he did two decades ago.
That's what his website was missing: a Benjamin Button.
