Back in the day (cue some old school hip hop, Eric B & Rakim’s Paid In Full should do the trick), salivating over a phone launch would guarantee you a one-way ticket to the weirdo step.
Not in our brave new world of 2012, though, boyo. That’s why these teaser shots of the new iPhone are one very big deal. Oh, hang on, it’s not a new iteration of Apple’s iconic mobile device, that was a couple of months ago. It’s only the new BlackBerry – apparently.
These pics, leaked on a Vietnamese tech site, claim to show the 10 L-Series; the phone that BlackBerry maker Research In Motion is pinning all its hopes on as it attempts to arrest its decline in the ultra-competitive smartphone sector.
The obvious thing – after the iPhone comparison naturally – is that the BlackBerry’s keyboard has finally gone. It’s also longer (another comparison); however, unlike the iPhone it has no home button. It is also textured for grip and has a fully removable cover.
According to BlackBerry, its next generation of phones will hit the marketplace at the end of January.
