Owning a lightsaber is up there with the all-time greatest movie props that we desperately want to be real, including the Back to the Future hoverboard, the Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger and KITT from Knight Rider. Obviously.
But, thanks to this video from Martin Archer, they've dropped a considerable way down the list.
Proving the science almost impossible (or at least not happening any time soon) Martin basically ruined all our dreams of becoming a Jedi, but we’d rather not have our face melted off.
Ignore the pretty terrible special effects as the science is well worth a watch. Maybe just stick with the Star Wars movies for the time being...
