Heavenly Sword feature film revealed

Hands up who bought Heavenly Sword for the PS3? It was a glorious hack'n'slash feast released about six years ago, featuring a scarlet bombshell in the form of blade-wielding Nariko. If you're hand is indeed up (so sweet of you), you may be pleased to know that a Heavenly Sword film is on its way.

Staring Anna Torv (who voiced Nariko in the 2007 game), Alfred Molina, and Thomas Jane, this strictly CG-affair sees the red-headed heroine take on the invading forces of King Bohan, who lusts for the power of the heavenly sword. As Nariko's life is slowly overtaken by the power of the blade she uses, it's a race against time to smite the advancing enemy. Queue super slow motion and heaps of snicker-snacking.

Heavenly Sword is slated for a digital release in spring 2014 - an enticing prospect for fans of the original title who've hankered for more. Yes, a sequel would have been better, but we're happy to put up with a feature length CG cut scene. Check out the trailer below for a taste of the action.
